March is popping!
Did you know that North Carolina celebrates Arbor Day in March? Do you know what Arbor Day represents?
Well, I'm glad you asked! The main purpose of Arbor Day is to raise the awareness of trees, their roles, and educate our communities about their benefits within our plant. Arbor Day's festivities are historically in April, however, in North Carolina its the first Friday following March 15th.
Happy Arbor Day North Carolina ~ March 17th, 2023
We love nothing more than getting trees in the ground! (well, outside of maintaining them, talking about them, hanging out with other treeple and you know, basically anything about trees). So join us as we partner with other trees lovers passionate about making our future a whole lot greener!
How to Get Involved:
We love learning and volunteering with other treeple! This can include digging holes, moving trees, planting trees, moving mulch, taking tags off of trees, or generally just hanging out with other tree planting people! Click the links below to sign up. Then show up!
Organize a Tree Planting:
We are always looking for more places to plant trees, and more people to plant with! We will provide all the tools, materials, and training needed. If you, your neighborhood and your group would like a tree planting, please attend a member meeting or reach out directly to us at: trees@treesdurham.org
